The Anger Resolution Program of Ontario

Anger is never just about ‘anger’. It is about all life experiences that work together in creating an anger experience. An anger experience takes the form of both a physical and emotional process, and it is important to consider both of these when treating anger.

Anger can usually be broken down into two types: external and internal. External anger is the type that is more commonly known, where anger is easily seen as explosive rage, in either a physical and/or verbal form. However, the more hidden internal anger can be just as dangerous, as it can lead to a more passive stance, and can result in the “stuffing” of feelings, leading not only to emotional issues, but to physical illness down the road as well.
